International Boating License (ICC)
Several European nations have collaborated to streamline and standardize their respective regulations through a legislative measure known as ‘Resolution 40 ECE’. Participating countries permit individuals to navigate their waters if they hold a relevant or equivalent boating license from their country of origin.
For instance, if you hold an inland sailing license (applicable to rivers, lakes, etc.) in Britain, you’re also permitted to sail on rivers in Italy, and the same principle extends to other types of boating licenses.
The signatories of this agreement include:
Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Belarus. But NOT SPAIN.
